SACRISTANS
"What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived, what God has prepared for those who love Him" (1 Cor 2:9)

A good sacristan is a boon to any parish and, as the GIRM says, the post fulfills a true liturgical function. As the Ceremonial of Bishops states: “The adornment and decor of a church should be such as to make the church a visible sign of love and reverence toward God” (No. 38).
Preparing God’s House for Worship: The aforementioned text of GIRM, No. 105, says: “The following also exercise a liturgical function: The sacristan, who carefully arranges the liturgical books, the vestments, and other things necessary in the celebration of Mass.”
Prayer for Sacristans
I'm opening up the church, Lord.
I hold the keys that break the seal between the night outside
and your light within.
Soon people will pass through the doors that I unlock
Help them leave behind their concerns.
Help them enter your presence
And help me serve you and them on both sides of these doors.
Amen.
